A Word Finder is a high-speed anagram solver and pattern-matching engine that searches dictionary word lists in real time. It enables players to solve complex word racks, crossword clues, and word puzzle boards in milliseconds.
Our algorithm uses client-side Trie and frequency indexing, executing instant pattern matches locally in your browser without lag or unnecessary server round-trips.
3. Detailed Mode Breakdown & Pattern Matching Rules
- •Letters Mode: Unscrambles up to 15 rack letters and up to 3 wildcards (?), with optional length and prefix/suffix filters.
- •Pattern Mode: Uses '_' to represent unknown letter slots. For example, pattern '_A_E_' finds 5-letter words with A at position 2 and E at position 4.
- •Length Mode: Directly filters all words in the active language dictionary by exact length (2 to 15 letters) plus starting/ending hooks.
